With the introduction of a new player re-signing system, clubs are navigating this process with a heightened sense of precision and calculation. Let's delve into the numbers behind this new system to gain insights into its impact so far.

Goalies:

Out of 16 offers extended to goalies, 4 contracts have been signed, representing a 25% success rate. However, it's noteworthy that 2 goalies have rejected all 3 offers and are set to become unrestricted free agents (UFA). This rejection rate amounts to 12.5% of the total offers made to goalies.

Wingers:

Wingers have seen a higher success rate in contract negotiations, with 36 contracts signed out of 79 offers, equating to a success rate of approximately 45%. Notably, only one winger has declined all 3 offers and opted for UFA status. This rejection accounts for just over 1% of the total offers made to wingers.

Additionally, one savvy general manager (GM) successfully utilized the "pick a number" option, securing a 15% discount on a winger's contract.

Defensemen:
